Debra Booth

Atlanta, Georgia, United States

Debra Booth has taken photography classes over the Internet, at local venues, and is currently a student of the New York Institute of Photography. Debra has won prizes for her photography and is a member of Women in Focus, an Atlanta organization for female photographers. She has exhibited her work at juried and artist's choice shows.

Debra loves to travel. She feels privileged to have visited “some wonderful spots on earth, but the most amazing is India.” She and her husband return there every other year and feel renewed. Debra practices Indian Yoga.

It’s no surprise that her favorite subjects in photography are travel, architecture, and nature. Debra has four cats and takes a special interest in feline health.

As a member of the Sierra Club, Debra went on a week-long hike in Canyon de Chelly in Arizona. “I was challenged to hike up a very steep rock face with nothing but toe holds. I was very uncomfortable with the idea, but I decided to give it a try. I didn't make it to the top and backed myself down after a short distance.. What I realized, though, is that it didn't matter, and that it is okay to fail at something. The most important thing is to try it in the first place.”
